Intelligence and elegance meet in the middle

Fastlane turnstiles remain a popular entrance control choice in the Middle East

When it comes to entrance control security, it’s vital to understand the end user’s unique needs. The level of security required, the environment in which the system will be installed, the purpose of the system, the desired aesthetic, the unique security threats faced by the region and more, all play a vital role in ensuring the most suitable entrance control solution is specified.

Having operated in the entrance control market for nearly 30 years, we have a wealth of experience on which to draw. However, change in this industry is fast and different markets face different threats, and therefore have individual, constantly evolving requirements. To ensure we remain at the forefront of the industry and able to offer our customers the latest solutions, we have dedicated sales representatives in each of our key territories. Our team is also present at the major security exhibitions around the globe, paying close attention to what each territory demands from entrance control security.

One of our key markets is the Middle East. For many years we have exhibited at Intersec Dubai and, in April this year, we will have a stand at Intersec Saudi Arabia (stand A17) for the second year. Wanting to reflect the specific pedestrian entrance control requirements of this region, we’re giving visitors the chance to experience some of our best-selling turnstile products on stand, which feature optional locking brakes – the Glassgate 200 and Glassgate 400 – as well as the Glasswing, which has always been popular in the Middle East due to its aesthetic appeal and retracting barriers.

Our standard units are well received in the Middle East due to their elegant styling. Whilst bespoke design features aren’t yet a key requirement in this market, there is a significant requirement for integration customisation, allowing our units to accommodate biometric verification, lift destination controls and other types of access control systems. Being able to provide a range of turnstiles with optional features – such as tall glass, locking brakes, customisation etc – has always stood us in good stead over our competitors in the Middle East, as we’re able to provide solutions to suit all needs and environments. We’re looking forward to showcasing our range at Intersec Saudi Arabia next month.

Tony Smith, Major Accounts & Marketing Manager, comments. “Our turnstiles continue to prove popular in the Middle East due to their ability to simultaneously provide the required level of security whilst also complementing every high-spec, elegant environment with their sleek, modern styling.  Taking time to understand the particular security and aesthetic demands of the Middle Eastern market, as well as the unique customs and ways of doing business, is what has led to our turnstiles securing many high-profile buildings in the region, including the Aldar HQ and the Etihad Innovation Centre in Abu Dhabi, and the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, amongst others. Our customers in the Middle East value our experience and longevity in the market place, having been in operation for nearly 30 years, and also like the fact that our products are manufactured in the UK and the assurances associated with that, such as reliability and quality of build. We look forward to continuing to work in this exciting market.”
