US supermarket chain chooses Fastlane Speedgates
The threats facing organisations, their employees and assets are continually increasing and changing and, with this, the demand for pedestrian entrance control to secure different business environments has risen around the world. Organisations want their employees to feel at ease in their places of work and selecting the correct access control system is key to achieving the right balance between welcoming and secure.
Smarter Security, our exclusive Fastlane partner in the USA, recently supplied two lanes of Fastlane Glassgate 400 to secure the employee entrance to a distribution centre for a supermarket chain in the Midwest, as well as provide management with insight relating to the building’s population at any given moment. Having secured their headquarters with Fastlane Glassgate 400s for the past two years, when it came to planning the entrance security at its distribution centre, the supermarket chain chose the same model due to the product’s reliability and the success of the existing installations.
Offering a stylish yet secure choice, the Glassgate 400 offers the highest level of physical deterrent available in the Fastlane range and features 1.8m of laminated and toughened safety glass barriers acting as an imposing psychological barrier to intruders, as well as physically preventing them from gaining unauthorised access. As with all Fastlane products, the Glassgate 400 was designed with the latest optical technology, enabling optimum throughput of authorised users with minimum intrusion in their daily lives, ensuring quick user acceptance. It also features an optional locking brake, making the glass doors virtually impenetrable, even in the event of someone trying to gain unauthorised access by running at them or applying significant force to them.
Commenting on this project, John Cocking, National Sales Manager of Smarter Security, said: “The desire for secure lobbies continues to expand beyond the typical big-city applications and customers. We’re also seeing increased orders of turnstiles with locking barriers, another sign that security efforts are tightening everywhere. This customer was so pleased with their Glassgate 400’s in their other buildings that they did not even consider other brands when it came time to tighten security at this distribution centre. We’re really proud of the results we’ve achieved together with this progressive customer.”
Tony Smith, Major Accounts and Marketing Manager, at Integrated Design Limited, adds: “Our exclusive partnership with Smarter Security really does benefit the American and Canadian markets. We supply the high quality, reliable Fastlane products and Smarter Security delivers the exceptional customer service, from project consultation and sales through to installation and technical support. We look forward to continuing to strengthen this partnership through the delivery of many more successful projects like this one.”
