IDL deliver a high-performance security solution for Domino’s Pizza
The Fastlane Glassgate 150 was chosen to secure the Domino’s Pizza head office in Milton Keynes. The bright and airy office building, home to the UK’s leading pizza brand and the central hub for Domino’s Pizza in the UK and Ireland, required entrance control which complemented the interiors whilst maintaining the level of security essential to keeping its occupants safe.
One of the primary security concerns that needed to be addressed was how best to monitor access in and out of the building. The client realised that by installing entrance control they would not only have high performing physical security, it would also give them the capability to ensure they can maintain an accurate list of building occupants, which was another requirement for fulfilling fire safety protocols. The turnstiles would make it necessary for staff and guests to log their arrival at reception before gaining access to the facility, enabling the building management to have an accurate view of building occupancy, and preventing unauthorised users from gaining access beyond reception.
In order to find entrance control to fit their requirements, the building’s management company commissioned Craig Jemmett of CJ Fire & Security ltd., to source a suitable entrance control system and complete the installation. With a strong history of working with IDL, having previously installed Fastlane products in several locations across Europe, Craig’s solution was to install Fastlane Glassgate 150s on the floor protection system and integrate the turnstiles with Paxton Access Control.
The Glassgate 150 is a popular model in the Fastlane Speedgates range. Supplied as standard in a stylish stainless steel enclosure with a brushed stainless steel finish, and black Quartz Corian inserts to facilitate concealed card readers, it perfectly complements the office interior. It utilises dual glass barrier panels which have bi-directional functionality.
Craig Jemmett explains, “Fastlane turnstiles are reliable and they look great, so selecting the Glassgate 150 for this project was an easy decision. From a logistical perspective, IDL as a company is very easy to deal with, the installations are always straightforward and well executed. In this instance we installed two lanes, including the integrated access control, over two days. It was so successful that we are now looking to roll out another phase at Domino’s manufacturing plant.”
