From elegant silk-screened decorative tops for Toei Animation in Japan, to an integrated lift destination control system at 7 World Trade Center NYC, an increasing number of customers come to us seeking bespoke entrance control solutions.
Whether you’re an Architect looking for a turnstile which perfectly complements the environment you’ve created, or a Facilities Manager tasked with increasing security for tenants whilst simultaneously improving the energy efficiency of your building, our technical and design teams are experts at working in close consultation with you to ensure your precise brief is realised.
Whilst there isn’t a lot you can do to improve on our technology – which enables unrivalled quick and safe passage for users, processing up to 60 authorised users per minute – there are a number of ways in which we can tailor our units to suit any specification or aesthetic requirement.
Satisfy your key specifications with product integrations
Fastlane turnstiles and Door Detective products can be integrated with every known access control system, along with time and attendance, building management systems, lift destination and HVAC controls, providing a hub which enables seamless use across existing disparate systems and delivering time and space efficiencies. An entrance control system comprises a Fastlane turnstile, an access control system and a device mounted onto the turnstile which provides user identification. We provide in-house services at our West London manufacturing premises which allows us to aesthetically integrate a variety of third party devices, for example proximity card readers, finger print readers, facial recognition technologies and elevator dispatch information displays. Inviting our customers to our demo suite allows them to see the products in action, and also understand where the possibilities lie for customisations. The proximity of the factory floor to the technical and design teams ensures regular conversation and a joined-up approach to problem solving, allowing bespoke alterations to be made quickly and to our high standards, rather than having them carried out remotely.

Create a finish which fits with your environment
In addition to a range of functional product integrations which allow you to satisfy your required specifications, there are a number of ways in which you can tailor the final look of the turnstiles, allowing you to reflect your organisation’s brand.
Whether you require corporate discretion or colourful expression, Fastlane products are highly customisable with a wide variety of finish options available for the pedestals, barriers and pedestal upper decorative surfaces tops, allowing you to create the perfect entrance control product to complement or enhance your building’s design. When you’ve worked with some of the most iconic buildings and top brands in the World – for example The Angel Building in London, UNESCO’s Headquarters in Paris and the award-winning 8 Finsbury Circus in London – you need to be able to offer a flexible solution which really delivers to a customer’s visual brief, and we’ve developed a number of ways to be able to achieve this.
The trend of contrasting natural against industrial materials continues to be popular, and this is something which has been reflected in some of our customer’s requests.
Nero Assoluto or ‘absolute black’ is a popular granite which has a reputation for bringing style to any environment. When paired with the stainless steel of the turnstile unit’s sides, its reflective surfaces echo those of the steel, giving a feel of elegance and quality. As well as looking stylish, it is hard-wearing, low maintenance and long lasting due its stain resistant, scratchproof and heat-resistant qualities. At the request of the architects involved in the project, we have also worked with local stone quarries to create custom finishes which are really sympathetic to their environment and provide a showcase for the natural resources which are representative of the area.
Wood has also been requested, in different finishes, which can provide a contrasting relief against the industrial steel.
As with all our integral parts, we have taken great care in choosing to work with suppliers of the utmost quality, which is why we source a large proportion of custom finishes from Rimex Metals.
Whether you’re looking for a bead blast matte finish, a vibration polished finish in natural or coloured options, a highly polished Super Mirror finish, or mirror or satin polishes with a range of colour options, Rimex Metals offer a great range of finishes providing our customers with maximum choice.
Corian ® from Dupont
“Engrave it. Colour it. Thermoform it. DuPont™ Corian® solid surfaces can be whatever you imagine it can be. Undulating, virtually seamless, organic shapes, bold effects of colour and translucency – if you can dream it, you can create it with Corian®.”
So says the Dupont website! We’ve always found this to be the case when adding custom finishes to the tops of our turnstiles.
Specialist paint and treatment processes
Using paints and lacquers is another way to transform an access control turnstile and we have used this method to add age to a unit by creating a patina, especially on bronze antique finishes. It is quite surprising the different effects that can be achieved with professional spray paint, again ranging from the subtle to the dynamic, reflecting individual briefs.
If you have a brief that you think could be satisfied by a custom designed turnstile, get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can work together to create the perfect look for your environment.
